February marks both Football v Homophobia’s Month of Action and LGBTQ+ History Month, two key moments in the football calendar that highlight the ongoing work to make the game welcoming for everyone.

As part of these celebrations, Blackburn Rovers’ home fixture against Preston North End has been confirmed as the club’s official Football v Homophobia match. The game will feature the striking Rainbow Puma match ball, a symbol of visibility and solidarity across the sport.

In a special moment before kick‑off, the Rainbow Puma ball will be delivered onto the pitch by members of the Blackburn Rainbow Café, a local LGBTQ+ community group whose work continues to support inclusion and connection across the borough.

The fixture forms part of a wider programme of activity throughout February, as clubs, supporters, and community groups come together to champion equality and challenge discrimination in all its forms.
